Kompong Cham
A sleepy little town great for watching the world go by
A bridge made completely of bamboo providing access for carts, vehicles, animals, bikes and people across to the island. It is taken down before the monsoon season each year and re-built again afterwards
Biking along the dusty road in the hot afternoon sun, partially shaded by the arching trees lining the path. Children ran up to the edge yelling 'helloooo!' and holding out their hands high-5'ing us as we rode by! A very cool afternoon, and reminded me of the bike rides we used to do in summer when we were kids
Just after this photo was taken some locals called us up the hill to see something but before our guide had a chance to translate we realised their dog had died (of natural causes) and had been strung up on a tree ready for skinning and eating. Perhaps that's where the phrase 'done like a dogs dinner' comes from....?
